SHARL (1984 - 1986) My Favorite Things-era band live July 20th, 2001 at Live&Club Space DAYTRIP. (The band was credited as Kotogawa Rin Making Love for this performance.)
SHARL is another short-lived project, experimenting with samples, unconventional synthesizer work, and incorporating sexual sounds/imagery. Confusingly, the names "SHARL" and "Renzoku Shasatsuma" seem to have been used interchangably (perhaps they were the same project?) throughout the mid-80s. Some singles originally credited to Shasatsuma were later reissued crediting SHARL instead, and vice versa. To add to the confusion, the 1985 LP by Renzoku Shasatsuma is also titled "SHARL" - but seems to be otherwise entirely unrelated to this project.
